WHY EVIDENCE SKINCARE (ESK)?
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Back in 2012, we were doing lots of TV segments about what to look for in anti-aging skincare. I’d look at the studies and chat about ingredients, only to be flooded with emails asking me for brand names! The problem was I couldn’t find any products that actually had the latest evidence-based ingredients! Despite some outrageous claims. I chatted to my husband, Daniel about it and somehow we ended up deciding to make it ourselves!!
We had long chats with plastic surgeons, dermatologists and scientists, and came up with our nirvana; a range of skin care products based ONLY on the best available published scientific evidence. Initially we only made our products for sale through specialist doctors’ surgeries. Then in 2017 we expanded the range and launched our own brand, EVIDENCE SKINCARE, or ESK.
We swore to adhere to the original principles that propelled us into this journey in the first place.

EVIDENCE
By evidence we don’t mean theoretical thinking, or studies on 3 mice. Our products are made using the key ingredients that are published in the most rigorous peer reviewed, science journals. We use the ingredients as they are studied, in the concentrations, pH levels and formulations with evidence. That means not cutting corners and using cheaper or easier second-rate ingredients! We continuously scour the published literature, sending out our monthly science wrap to our customers. And when we come across new evidence, we update our formulations!

INTEGRITY
Being able to sleep at night matters too! So, we decided to stick to our guns and make ESK a BS-free zone. That goes for our marketing claims, and our photos. We don’t retouch images and we use real people, not paid models. We wanted to ensure our products gave our customers value for money and avoided excessive complexity.
We also vowed to make our products 100% cruelty free. We care about the environment, so we use recyclable packaging wherever possible. In our formulations, we have been careful to exclude all known and suspected harmful ingredients, including all perfume, parabens and phthalates.

Evidence Skincare marks a new approach to skincare and is based on a simple philosophy; evidence and integrity. As a doctor, whenever I appear on TV to talk about health issues, there are 2 things that are always on my mind: What does the evidence say and how can I translate that into something that is usable? Well there is a third thing… being human, I care about how I look on camera.
With skin that was not great to start with and one that wasn’t getting any younger, I was always looking for a good skin care regime. One that was evidence based and effective, and because I so often feel time pressured, one that’s both quick and easy to use. No matter how may products I tried, I could not find ones that met those criteria. More frustratingly, what I found mostly were companies using marketing pseudo-science targeting the insecurities of their audience.
In 2012, I hit peak frustration and together with my husband, set out to create a range of skin care that was everything that I was looking for (and nothing like what I could find in the market).
So we worked with the best professionals in the field to create a range that customers can trust and can deliver results. We’re proud of what we have created, it’s everything that we wanted it to be and most importantly: It’s skin care that simply works.
